THE GENERAL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CONVENTION OF GEORGIA – FAMILY CAFE WORKSHOP

A special thanks goes out to Rev. Marvin Brown and Sis. Terrelyn Wade for opening the doors of the 3rd District Men’s Meeting. More than 30 church leaders from SWGA attended.
Activities facilitated by the SFL Family Café helped stir conversations and provided opportunity for men to voice their concerns and solutions about family values and healthy relationships within their communities. The conversations were eye opening and revealing. Men openly expressed their thoughts and were excited about continuing the conversations with male teens and college age students to solidify solutions. An idea offered was a mentoring program – Utilizing the skills of men in the church to train and motivated younger males. The program would also include instruction on sexual health and safety. However, due to recent cuts in funding plans were shelfed.
